Digital signs for Wolseley Road and Plymouth Road

Plymouth City Council have announced that work will begin on Monday 11th March to install two new electronic sign boards, known as Variable Message Signs, on Wolseley Road and Plymouth Road.

These signs will be used to give information to travellers about incidents, congestion, events and alternative routes. They can be updated instantly and will help keep traffic flowing smoothly.

Installation will take up to three weeks and there will be lane closures while work is in progress.

On Wolseley Road there will be an inbound lane closure between the St Levan Road roundabout and the Britannia Inn between 9.30am and 3pm each day. The lane will stay open outside these hours to minimise disruption during peak traffic periods. The bus shelter near the St Levan Road roundabout will remain in use for the duration of the work.

There will also be an inbound lane closure on Plymouth Road, between Sainsbury's and the Laira flyover, between 9.30am and 3pm each day. As with Wolseley Road, this lane will stay open outside these hours to minimise disruption during peak traffic flows.
