Yasmin Clapp is backing The Brain Tumour Charity’s Great Minds T-shirt campaign to raise vital funds to help find a cure for brain tumours – the biggest cancer killer of children and under-40s in the UK.

And proceeds will also go towards supporting people living with the physical and emotional impact of a brain tumour on them and their families.

The Brain Tumour Charity has launched its first range of t-shirts, in partnership with ethical and sustainable clothing brand Teemill, to champion and support the ‘Great Minds’ of people within its unique community.

The Charity has joined forces with Teemill to release five bold, unique and eye-catching designs which are available on a range of t-shirts for men, women and children exclusively at https://thebraintumourcharityfashion.co.uk/

For each T-shirt sold, 50% of the profits is donated to The Brain Tumour Charity to help find a cure for brain tumours – the biggest cancer killer of children and under-40s in the UK – as well as supporting people living with a brain tumour.

The Great Minds theme was chosen by Yasmin, aged 27 from Exeter, along with her fellow Young Ambassadors nationwide.

Life changed dramatically for Yasmin Clapp in 2017 when she received the devastating news that she had a brain tumour. She had been had been experiencing bizarre symptoms intermittently for the previous year, including a ‘burning smell’, she underwent an awake craniotomy.

Yasmin then had chemotherapy and radiotherapy and the process of recovery began for her. Throughout her treatment Yasmin worked and travelled and just four weeks after surgery, she was able to return to work and to build up her confidence and her life again.

Yasmin said: “I was told that without my doctor being so determined to help me, I would have been worse off if he hadn’t have helped push through my tests and diagnosis. I was lucky, I had a good experience with my GP. It’s made a big difference to my life.”

Yasmin is determined, along with The Brain Tumour Charity’s other Young Ambassadors, to rasie symptom awareness.

My biggest thing to be involved in this campaign is my passion to get this funding and help those with brain tumours to change life in all different aspects.

“We need to raise awareness now, building the funds to push this into research and show a clear outcome for everyone affected. Being a part of this campaign will help to show others what help is needed within this charity.”

The Charity also hopes it will help to dispel the negative emotions people with a brain tumour often hold about their mental capabilities including memory difficulties, personality changes and physical pain.

Great Minds also celebrates the formidable minds within the brain tumour community who are striving for change including those affected by the disease, charity supporters, clinicians and scientists working hard to find a cure.

The unique and original t-shirt designs have been developed by a team of professional designers who kindly donated their time to the project.

Sarah Lindsell, chief executive of The Brain Tumour Charity, said: “We’re very excited to be launching The Charity’s first ever clothing collection. The theme is absolutely perfect for encapsulating all that we’re about – championing, supporting and celebrating people who have been affected by a brain tumour.

“A brain tumour is cruel and indiscriminate so it can affect people of all ages. However, we’re so proud that Yasmin and our other Young Ambassadors are supporting the Great Minds collection so that they can wear their t-shirts with pride and quite rightly stand out in the crowd as the amazing and influential people they are.”

Teemill is a leading ethical and sustainable clothing brand. The range is part of the world’s first circular economy for fashion as they are made on demand and designed to be sent back to Teemill when they have worn out. The range is also made from certified organic cotton, using renewable energy and are printed on demand in the UK.
