Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust is hosting an event which will highlight the great variety of charitable organisations providing highly valued services to our patients and families. During the same week, the new Plymouth Hospitals Charity will be launched.

Twenty associated charities will be taking part in Charity Awareness Week, from Monday 2 to Friday 6 June 2014. They will be exhibiting in the Derriford Hospital concourse, outside the Restaurant on Level 7 and in Outpatients Reception. Patients and the public will be able to visit their stands and discover whether they can lend support to their excellent causes or benefit from their exceptional services.

Fundraising Lead, Jenny Aspland, said “It has been a privilege to work with representatives from many worthy charities, and to experience keen partnership working. This is going to be a very exciting week, as Plymouth Hospitals Charity will be unveiled on Monday 2nd June.”

Plymouth Hospitals Charity aims to support the work of Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust in providing the best possible healthcare to every patient. It supports the work of NHS staff and allows the Trust to raise standards above the level that NHS funding alone allows.
The Charity will be raising money for:

• Derriford Hospital, Plymouth
• Child Development Centre
• Plymouth Dialysis Unit

Donations can be made to a huge variety of different charitable funds held by wards and departments within Derriford Hospital and other sites, depending on causes patients, families and the public wish to support.

In addition, Plymouth Hospitals Charity will organise campaigns to raise funds for key projects, alongside partner charities and organisations.
