The Devon Business Expo will take place at the Matford Centre in Exeter on April 30th and looks set to be even bigger than last year’s event which saw more than 700 people attend and visit the 70 exhibitors.

Stands are already being taken up with 50% already booked. It is expected that there will be 100 exhibitors and up to 1000 people attending on the day.

Dave Barr, thebestof Exeter’s MD said “I am delighted that Petroc have come on board as our headline sponsor, and to have Basepoint Business Centres and Securitas as supporting sponsors. I am also looking forward to working with our Media Partners Radio Exe and the Express and Echo.”

Each week in the run up to the Expo we will be keeping up to date with the latest news on the event and the sponsors.

There is always plenty going on at Petroc. The new Future Technologies Centre was officially opened at the Mid Devon Campus at the end of last year and has opened up many training opportunities for local businesses.

Petroc secured £3 million of funding to build the specialist facility, which accommodates a wide range of curriculum areas including motor vehicle, plumbing, electrical and renewable technologies.

The building supports economic regeneration objectives for the area and will provide considerable flexibility and adaptability throughout its lifespan, to suit the changing needs and aspirations of young learners, adults working in industry and local employers.

Graham Jackson from Gaslec Southwest is excited about what the building means for Tiverton: “The Future Technologies Centre will be great for the people of Mid Devon.

“It has gone far beyond just replacing the existing workshops and the name says it all – it’s about looking to the future and thinking about renewables and sustainability, and embedding this into the curriculum for the next generation,” added Graham.

There will be a full programme of seminars on the day, as well as speed networking and a number of practical sessions.

Delegates can attend free, but are asked to pre register at www.devonbusinessexpo.co.uk

Stands are still available in a range of sizes and there is a special area for new start up businesses which have been trading for less than twelve months. These stands are deliberately low priced to encourage new businesses to take part.
