PKF Francis Clark’s Matt Willmott named Young Dealmaker of the Year

PKF Francis Clark is celebrating the success of Corporate Finance senior associate Matt Willmott who has been awarded Young Dealmaker of the year at the Insider South West Dealmakers Awards 2016.

The prestigious awards recognise and reward the wealth of talent in the region’s professional services sector and celebrate the success achieved by dealmakers in the South West over the past 12 months.

Matt Willmott joined PKF Francis Clark’s Corporate Finance team in 2010 and has extensive experience across company acquisitions and disposals, raising finance, due diligence, business planning and complex financial modelling. He is also a member of PKF Francis Clark’s Energy and Sustainability team, having advised on several innovative deals in the sector.  These include CoGen’s c.£100m biomass energy plant, the first in the UK to be financed in an all-equity transaction; and award winning Plymouth Energy Community’s share offer to raise finance for developing solar PV on local schools and other community properties.

Other deals Matt has advised on include:

• The acquisition of several companies for a London investment fund totalling c.£70m providing commercial and financial structuring advice on the proposed deal and due diligence.
• The Management Buyout of £50m+ turnover RGB Building Supplies, a regional building supply merchant, and
• The merger of two Plymouth credit unions.

Matt picked up his award at a gala dinner held at the Marriot Hotel, Bristol on June 15th.

Last year, PKF Francis Clark’s Corporate Finance Team scooped two awards at the same event collecting Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year with partner Mark Greaves being named Dealmaker of the Year.
