Two arrested after robbery at taxi rank

Police are seeking witnesses to a robbery which happened at the taxi rank on Raleigh Street, Plymouth, shortly after midnight on 2nd July 2016.

The taxi rank is outside what used to be the Derry’s departments store.

A 50-year-old man from Plymouth was assaulted by two people, a man and a woman, and his wallet and mobile phone were stolen. He received injuries to his head and ankle.

An 18-year-old man and a 41 year old woman, both from Plymouth, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on police bail until 20th September 2016 while police complete their enquiries.

Police are particularly keen to speak to two taxi drivers who were on the rank at the time of the incident, and who police believe witnessed what happened and who may have spoken to all parties involved.
