Police are appealing for witnesses following a violent assault that left a 24-year-old man with a fractured nose.

The incident took place in Oceana Nightclub on the Barbican, Plymouth on Thursday 11th August at around 2.15am.

Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Gareth Bray, said: “We are investigating an alleged assault that took place in the nightclub. We believe that an argument started between a group of people and this led to one man sustaining facial injuries.

“The altercation took place on the smoking terrace of Oceana Nightclub and we know that there were a number of men and women there at the time who would have witnessed the incident.

“If you were at Oceana on the 11th of August and witnessed the altercation on the smoking terrace then we would like to speak to you, as you could hold information vital to our investigation.”

Two men both aged 20 have been arrested in connection with the assault and have been released on police bail until the 13th September pending further enquiries.
