Motorcyclist dies after Plympton crash

A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Plympton yesterday [4 May].

Emergency services were called at 11.05am following the collision between a white Vauxhall Combo van and a black KTM 690 motorcycle at the bottom of Cot Hill on Plymouth Road.

The motorcyclist, aged 60 and from Plympton, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Cot Hill was closed by police while officers carry out a forensic examination of the scene. Traffic is diverted along Valley Road and via Underlane.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles involved travelling in the vicinity prior to the incident.
