Onshore Media, the South West's leading tourism and leisure communications company, has won the PR contract for Destination Plymouth, aiming to promote Plymouth as a destination at local and regional level.

Onshore will be representing Britain's Ocean City, on behalf of the Destination Plymouth partners -  Plymouth City Council's Visitor, Events and Marketing Team, Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, Plymouth City Centre Company and Plymouth City Council Inward Investment team.

Amanda Lumley, Chief Executive of Destination Plymouth said: “Onshore Media will represent the City working closely with our existing national PR agency Hills Balfour. Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City is a vibrant, bustling and modern city by the sea with a rich heritage and culture which makes us the authentic, edgy destination we are. We take PR very seriously and we hope that this appointment will reflect our commitment to this and to widening the reach and appeal that Plymouth has to its many audiences.”

"We are absolutely delighted," said Onshore's PR Director, Simon Whittam. "Plymouth is one of the finest waterfront cities in the UK - with so much to shout about. It has made massive progress as destination in the last five years - and with Mayflower 2020 approaching there's a huge opportunity to engage the whole region in celebrating Plymouth. We are very excited to be able to show what we can do to promote it."

Onshore Media has a strong track record as a destination and lifestyle PR, having represented national and local tourism brands like VisitDevon, Royal William Yard, River Cottage Canteen & Deli, Pentillie Castle, Caerhays Castle and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
