Winners of the coveted Media Innovation Awards 2015 will be announced at Plymouth University’s state of the art performance centre, The House, on Thursday 26 November.

It promises to be a packed evening, with 12 awards up for grabs in the following categories: Animation, App, Branding, Games, Installation/Exhibition/Live Event, Photography, Print, Video/Film/TV/Video graphics, Web, Creative Craft, Student of the Year and Outstanding Contribution.

The judges were blown away by the entries, which showcased the breadth and diversity of media and its uses across the UK today.

Dawn Melville, Media Innovation Network Coordinator said: “Businesses, start-ups, freelancers, not-for-profits, academics, students and the general public are all invited to celebrate with us at the awards party. We are looking forward to bringing together some of the South West’s top innovators and getting to know the people who drove these exciting projects forward. The room is going to be buzzing with people who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve using our creativity. We hope that you will be able to join us and the judges for what will be an unforgettable evening.”

Hailing from the mean streets of leafy Greenbank, Bristol, the entertainment will be provided by a modern one-man band, performing sound-system butt shakers and playing bass lines, dance floor beats and assorted blaps all at the same time. Get ready for an exploration of the boundaries of live electronic performance.

Set up by the Media Innovation Network, the awards are now firmly established as a leading ceremony for the creative industries. Based at the Formation Zone in Plymouth University, the network provides media companies and individuals the opportunity to develop skills, access online resources, share knowledge and collaborate.

The 2015 Media Innovation Awards are being held on Thursday 26 November, 6-9pm at The House, Drake Circus, Plymouth, PL4 8AA. Tickets cost just £25 and also include a welcome drink, entertainment and a chance to mingle with experts and leaders in digital and traditional media. The awards will be hosted by Sam Smith - Editor, Current Affairs, BBC South West.
