Environmental networking charity DEBI says it has just a few sponsorship opportunities remaining for its 2014 awards.

DEBI has already secured category sponsorship from South West Water and South Devon tyre recycler Bandvulc. The Environment Agency and green issue management specialist JP Associates are co-sponsoring this year’s Environmental Champion, won in 2013 by Gabriel Wondrausch of SunGift Energy.

DEBI’s well-regarded annual awards celebrate the best of Devon’s sustainable and green businesses, and this year a new category has been introduced to recognise initiatives promoting environmental education.

The three categories seeking sponsorship are Sustainable Ethos, Sustainable Food, Retail, Hospitality & Leisure, and new category Environmental Education.

Support has already been received this year from The Una Group, which generously sponsored the awards launch held at the National Marine Aquarium. Daneswood, Inspirations, Lloyds Banking Group and Pebblebed Vineyards have also pitched in, and the Met Office is generously hosting the awards ceremony in November.

Entry for the DEBI Awards is now open and any green business or educational initiative in Devon is encouraged to enter before the September 26 deadline. There is no charge to enter the awards or attend the awards ceremony.
