The recently formed Millfield Trio – Maria Marton (soprano), Mark Tromans (clarinet) and Nicola Bracey (piano) – are regulars on the Somerset circuit. Their repertoire ranges from the ever popular Shepherd on the Rock by Schubert and six German Songs by Spohr to cabaret songs of the 20th century, all presented in an engaging and informative manner.

Hungarian born Maria Marton has performed all over Europe and Australia and is still a member of the “Pesti Hungarian Operetta Theatre”. She has lived in Somerset since 2004 where she teaches at Millfield School and performs as soloist.

Mark Tromans spent many years as a freelance clarinettist in London and has played with many of the country’s leading orchestras and ensembles, including the Musikvere in Vienna and Carnegie Hall in New York. With Richard Hosford and Nicholas Bucknall he recorded a critically acclaimed set of Mozart’s basset horn divertimenti. Mark has taught clarinet and sax at Millfield School for many years and continues to perform as soloist, orchestral and chamber musician in the southwest.

Nicola Bracey was sponsored by the Young Classical Artists Trust, playing widely in England and Belgium. Her debut recital at the Wigmore Hall was accompanying Lieder, her favourite musical medium. Having recently relocated from London to Somerset, Nicola now teaches piano at Millfield School and is enjoying playing chamber music in the southwest.
