A band now enjoying their fifth year of intensive gigging around the South West, The Needletones have well and truly put their stamp on the music of Jimi Hendrix. As a three piece (or ‘power trio’ as they’d have been labelled in the 60′s) they excel in bringing Hendrix to life on stage, with all of the energy and vigor such music deserves.

The Needletones comprises of Chris Babbage on bass and lead vocals; a man with a Plant-esque shriek who tears through his basses like a young Jack Bruce plugged into the mains. Owen Burgess picks up the lead guitar duties, both doing true justice to the songs as they were originally recorded and at the same time bringing something new to the table. Leigh Morley provides the solid, bombastic rhythm, tying everything down and keeping it together!

Whilst being predominantly a Hendrix tribute, The Needletones’ repertoire includes songs by The Beatles, The Stones, The Who and Led Zeppelin; all gelled together perfectly in a blend of medleys, solo performances and crazy stage antics.

Tickets: £9, £8 conc.
