Astor Tea Dance to be held again on Plymouth Hoe

The Nancy Astor Tea Dance is to be held on The Hoe in Plymouth again. On 26th May the Nancy Astor Statue Appeal along with Plymouth Dance will be reviving the event that was last held in the Second World War to raise morale among those living in the Blitzed city. At the time Waldorf Astor said: "The people of Plymouth have danced in the darkest days of war. They will dance here again in peace on a Hoe which overlooks a city which has been planned for them, for a wider, freer, healthier and more prosperous life." And dance they will! On 26th May 2019 from 1pm to 4pm the Tea Dance With A Twist will be held overlooking Plymouth Sound with a band and dancers on hand to help. Tickets are through donation and are available from www.crowdfunder.co.uk/lady-astor-statue-100-campaign

See you there!
