If you’re looking for a little bit of the highlife to end the summer holidays in style then Plymouth Museum’s Astor Garden Party should be your first port of call.

The event features several activities throughout the day suitable for all the family with craft play making garden party buntings for younger children and swing dance workshops for those a little older.

There will also be an airing of Nancy Astor’s maiden speech by local actress and BBC journalist Jo Loosemoore

The event coincides with an exhibition on the life of Lady Astor, the first ever female British MP famed for her quick wit and grand society parties at the Cliveden Estate. This fascinating exhibit on a political pinoneer is worth the visit alone.

Admission is free

The Astor Garden Party takes place tomorrow on Friday 30 August

Event Date

Friday, August 30, 2013 - 11:00
