Fire crews rescue "inebriated" man from roof

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has reported an incident involving a man on the roof of a property in Union Street in Plymouth in the early hours of Monday morning (14 October).

The Service received a call from the Police reporting an unnamed inebriated male on the roof of a property at around 3am. Two fire appliances from Greenbank, the specialist rescue team from Camels Head and the aerial ladder platform from Crownhill were mobilised.

On arrival fire crews confirmed the man was on the roof of a property, approximately ten metres high.  The man had climbed up via scaffolding. Fire crews removed the man from the roof using the aerial ladder platform. The man was left in the care of police.
