People who normally use Weston Mill household recycling centre are being alerted that it will close for one day on Tuesday 23 July.

Maintenance and improvement work will be carried out at the site to make it easier for visitors to use the layout of the site.

The work includes repainting white lines and installing paths for people, so that there are clear boundaries between paths and where cars can go to off load their recycling. The large containers on-site have to be moved around to enable this work to be carried out.

The paint will also need time – and hopefully plenty of sunshine – to dry properly before the site can re-open to the public.

A temporary sign will be put at the entrance to warn people and leaflets handed out ahead of the closure.

Weston Mill has over 190,000 visits a year and nearly 10,000 tonnes of waste deposited. Normal opening hours for the centre are 9.30am to 6pm.

People will still be able to take their recycling to Chelson Meadow Household Waste Recycling Centre.
