Films showing during Plymouth History Festival 2013

The Sanatorium

A documentary film detailing the history of ‘The Devon and Cornwall Sanatorium and Consumptives’, a tuberculosis hospital on the edge of Dartmoor, followed by a question and answer session with the film-maker. Noon-1pm. Admission is free and there is no need to book.

The Way We Live

Take a unique opportunity to enjoy a free screening of Jill Craigie’s 1946 film, which examines the plans to rebuild Plymouth at the end of the Second World War. This screening complements ‘The Making of a Modern City’ exhibition at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery and has been made possible thanks to the South West Film and Television Archive. 2pm-4pm. Putting You in the Picture: Celebrating the City’s Culture

See a selection of footage from the South West Film and Television Archive exploring festivals and cultural activities throughout the years. Showing at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. Admission is free although donations are welcome. There is no need to book.
