Plymouth Oddfellows Step Into Attenborough's World
Members of the Oddfellows Friendly Society recently stepped into a world unlike any ordinary cinema when they enjoyed ‘Our Story with David Attenborough’ at Devonport Market Hall's spectacular Immersive Dome.
The visit was organised by Brenda of Plymouth & Truro District Oddfellows, bringing members together for an afternoon of friendship, discovery and a truly memorable experience.
The 50 minute production takes audiences on an extraordinary journey through the four billion year history of our planet and the story of humankind. Combining breathtaking natural world footage, animation and Sir David Attenborough's familiar storytelling, the experience surrounds the audience with images and sound inside the Market Hall's remarkable dome.
Specially reworked for Plymouth, ‘Our Story’ offers a completely immersive experience, with the action projected around visitors and accompanied by an impressive spatial sound system.
Members agreed that it was a fascinating and thought provoking afternoon, as well as a wonderful opportunity to enjoy something different together.
Brenda was warmly thanked for organising the outing, which was another excellent example of the friendship, companionship and varied activities enjoyed by members of the Oddfellows.
From the wonders of the natural world to the story of humanity itself, it was certainly an afternoon to remember!
