Down in East Devon, for one whole week, Sidmouth will transform into an all-in festival that celebrates the traditions of the old ways. A major draw for the seaside town since its arrival in 1955, it has evolved tremendously since its original founding as a folk dancing event.

In 2026, the Sidmouth Folk Festival will still feature dancing, but also a craft and music village, plenty of stalls and halls for food and drink, and a stacked collection of concerts and variety shows across several stages. Running until 7 August, the array of options across the festival looks primed to welcome even more visitors than before.

Promoting the Massive East Devon Festival

Sidmouth has a lot to offer as a historic resort town with superb beaches and access to the Jurassic Coast, but major events like the Sidmouth Folk Festival offer a huge opportunity to further pump up the local economy. However, it’s not quite as well-known as organisers would perhaps hope.

In a poll about famous and popular music festivals, the Sidmouth Folk Week landed 113th for fame with a 16 per cent rating, while its popularity sat at seven per cent. It’s ahead of the Pentaport Rock Festival in its fame ranking, but well back of the 24th-placed Cambridge Folk Festival, which has a 36 per cent fame score.

Of course, these kinds of festivals are often more localised affairs, with people generally coming from the county and surrounding areas to enjoy the festivities. That said, Sidmouth Folk Festival is incredibly accessible, with bus, rail, and boat being options for arrival, as well as a paid festival coach service. Plus, you can camp at the festival.

Now, it’s certainly not cheap to go all-in at the festival, so to raise the profile, organisers could run more promotions akin to the welcome offers found online. It’s a time-honoured tradition for new players to get a casino bonus when they sign up. It gives them more time to try games initially and opens the door to more promos.

After the welcome bonus, which matches the deposit and gives free spins, players can win more free spins, bonuses, cash, and climb leaderboards to accompany regular play. Giving away all-inclusive tickets to new visitors from across the country would not only bring in more people but also encourage them to come back and tell others.

A Ticket Option to Suit Every Visitor

There’s a tremendous amount taking place across the Sidmouth Folk Festival this year, with ticketed events and passes covering 14 different aspects. The All-in-One pass covers all of the events but excludes a pass for camping, staying in a live-in vehicle, or the bus pass, with the latter two of those being additional charges regardless.

The Week Season ticket just misses the Ham Marquee Evening Concerts from Saturday to Thursday, which will feature Lindisfarne, Eddi Reader, Spooky Men’s Chorale, Capercaillie, The Young’uns, and Kate Rusby. Even so, the ticket gets you into the two Friday evening concerts, all of the other Ham Marquee concerts, and more.

Then, there’s the camping-focused Bulverton in One. This grants access to the popular Bulverton & Betsy’s Events, which include LNEs, concerts, and workshops, and gives you a camping pass. This section of the festival is all about enjoying dynamic events into the early hours, complete with campfire sessions and dedicated bars.

On 31 July, a stacked schedule will come to make the 2026 Sidmouth Folk Festival bigger and better than ever before. If there was ever a time to up the marketing effort to capitalise on the potential of the event, it’s now.
