Family law Solicitor Chloe Beeney has joined The Family Law Company’s Plymouth team.

Chloe has local roots, having grown up in the city. She says working in law was an ambition from an early age. “I was always inquisitive, always asking questions - and my family suggested I should think about becoming a lawyer. While I was studying for my degree, I developed an interest in family law; I liked the humanity involved in helping people when they are need.”

She studied Law at Bournemouth University and achieved a distinction in her LPC with the University of Law. Returning to Plymouth she undertook her training contract with a local law firm, qualifying in 2022. After a stint in the Court of Protection Chloe decided to return to family law to specialise in Private Children cases and those involving domestic abuse. She is utilising The Family Law Company’s four-day-week option, working full-time over four days.

Chloe has joined the Private Law Children Team headed up by Director, Amelia Davey. Amelia said: “I’m delighted to welcome Chloe to the team. Her passion for family law and keenness to work on challenging cases was immediately evident, and we know her contribution will be significant.”

Private children law encompasses cases where there are legal disputes regarding a child’s upbringing and welfare, usually involving parents, other relatives or guardians; such cases do not generally involve social services.
