Seventh annual Killerton walk in memory of colleague
An intrepid group from The Family Law Company with friends and families braved the weather to undertake a fundraising walk in memory of a cherished colleague. This year’s ‘Walk for Helen’ raised just under £280 for FORCE.
Helen Finch lost her fight to cancer in 2019. Since then, an annual walk in February at Killerton has raised funds in her memory for FORCE Cancer Charity. This included walking individually during Covid restrictions in 2021.
February can prove a challenging month for walking and previous walks have experienced sleet and hail. This year the challenge was rain and muddy ground, but the walkers fortunately managed to dodge the rain right up to the home straight as they headed towards the café for much-needed scones and tea.
Chloe Richardson from Force said: “Huge thank you to The Family Law Company for supporting FORCE with your annual Walk for Helen. The £276 raised from this event will enable FORCE to continue to support around 2,000 a year from our centre in Exeter and outreach locations in Ottery St Mary, Okehampton and Tiverton. Thank you for all your ongoing support of FORCE and enabling us to support more local people dealing with a cancer diagnosis.”
Devon charity FORCE provides care and support for local people affected by cancer to improve their well-being and quality of life. Services include specialist nursing information and advice, counselling, complementary therapies, benefits advice, relaxation and mindfulness courses and specialised programmes to help people move on after treatment or cope with cancers that can’t be cured.
