Exeter Racecourse launches Beat the Blues Raceday with instant prizes for early arrivals
Exeter Racecourse is set to turn the midwinter slump into a day of excitement with its Beat the Blues Raceday on Wednesday 28 January. Visitors arriving early will be handed a Lucky Envelope containing instant prizes — from free pints and racecards to chocolates and full meals — ensuring many start the day as winners before the first race is off at 1.40pm.
The initiative is part of Exeter’s push to make January raceday entertaining and accessible, combining high-quality winter jump racing with unexpected treats to lift spirits at the tail end of the month.
The afternoon features a seven-race card showcasing competitive jump racing at its best. Set against the rolling Devon hills, the event promises a lively atmosphere that welcomes newcomers as enthusiastically as seasoned racegoers.
“To brighten up one of the quieter months in the racing calendar, we wanted to give something extra to our visitors,” says Jack Parkinson, Exeter Racecourse Manager. “The Lucky Envelopes are a fun way to reward people for coming out,and enjoying a day on Haldon Hill.”
A dedicated raceday bus will run from Exeter St David’s Station, departing at 12.10pm and returning at 5.10pm, making it easy for visitors to join the fun. Tickets are available online, offering the best value compared with on-the-day gate prices.
With prizes on arrival, seven races of winter jump action, and a buzzing midweek atmosphere, Exeter’s Beat the Blues Raceday is shaping up to be a great day out.
