Tiverton-based housebuilder Allison Homes South West, is supporting Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT) this Christmas – a local charity helping those experiencing homelessness and hunger in Mid Devon.

Members of the team have each donated an item written on gift tags provided by CHAT on its ‘Tree of Hope’, and all the presents were presented to the charity ahead of Christmas day, on 23 December.

Holly Reid, Fundraising Manager at CHAT, commented: “We’re so grateful to everyone at Allison Homes for their generosity this Christmas. The Tree of Hope donations will make a real difference to people in Mid Devon facing hardship, helping us continue to provide support when it’s needed most.”

Glyn Mabey, Managing Director of Allison Homes South West, added: "We recognise that safe, secure housing is a fundamental need, and we’re acutely aware that many people in our community are facing real challenges, particularly during the colder months.

“Our team wanted to do something meaningful to help. This contribution is a modest way of supporting those experiencing hardship and helping CHAT continue its invaluable work providing practical assistance to local people.”

CHAT provides support to those experiencing hunger and housing difficulties in Mid Devon. Based in Tiverton close to Allison Homes South West’s office, its outreach includes weekly visits to Crediton, Cullompton and Uffculme. The charity’s services include free support and advice on housing, debt and money, together with practical support through its foodbank, pantry and other household items.
