Talk by Terry Green, author of the crime thriller Redline
Best known as the voice of “Cashier Number Three, please”, Tavistock author Terry Green will be at the town’s library in Plymouth Road from 2pm to 4pm on Friday October 31st to divulge the secrets of his new life of crime!
Terry has just published his first thriller, “Redline”, a fast and furious read set in the glamourous world of sports cars, with early 5* reviews calling it “cleverly written” and a “race from start to finish”. His inaugural author talk will cover both the writing process and the ups and downs of bringing a first book to market. It will be interspersed with extracts from the book, read by Nigel Howells from the South West’s Moonstone Theatre Company.
As “Cashier Number Three”, Terry’s voice once summoned around 25 million shoppers each month from queues in banks, shops and post offices worldwide. His first foray into writing, the business book, “You’re Next”, focussed on customer service and queue management. Now, he has embraced the challenge of coming up with a twist on the classic detective story, with a series of novels set against the background of his career. “Oh sure, there would have to be lies, fraud and murder, with some delicious scandal and just a touch of romantic intrigue!” he says. “And all served up on a bed of gritty business challenges for our hero, Jake Elderfield.”
