Although summer has now passed, you may already be planning another holiday for the remaining part of the year. For many people, autumn is actually the best time to go as prices are cheaper, resorts are a bit quieter, and the weather is still warm in many places. Jetting off on an autumn jaunt therefore makes perfect sense and can be a real pick-me-up heading into Christmas.

Of course, the big question for any Plymouth-based globetrotter to answer is where to go. With lots of fabulous destinations around the world, it can be hard to narrow it down to just one. To help out, we have rounded up a few of the best autumn holiday spots to try out.

Monte Carlo

One of the best places to pay a visit to over the autumn months is glamorous Monte Carlo in Monaco. Found in the south of France, this is a playground for the rich and famous that screams luxury. Don’t worry though – there are plenty of affordable hotels, cafés and restaurants here to people watch at and enjoy some autumn sun. One other big draw here is the world-famous casinos. While you might enjoy gambling at home at https://bitcasino.io, sometimes you cannot beat paying a visit to the real thing! With all the classic table games on offer and a feeling of true decadence, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Sardinia

Although an island in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is actually owned by Italy. This gives you a great idea of what to expect when heading here on holiday from Plymouth. The food and drink are a real winner, and you will love the local ingredients they use to make the most delicious dishes. The autumn time also sees a huge festival take place in the Barbagia area that involves 27 villages. With street decorations and lots of colour, it is a superb sight to take in. When you add in the laidback chic that Sardinia offers, it is a great autumn getaway.

Dubrovnik

Found in Croatia, Dubrovnik is a real autumn treat for anyone in Plymouth who is looking to get away from it all. It is actually much quieter and less humid than in the summer, which makes for a more relaxing, comfortable experience. The sea is still warm enough to swim in though, and you will love exploring the clear waters. It is also a city with lots of history, so you can spend the pleasant autumn days wandering the charming streets and exploring its past. With many bars and restaurants to enjoy, you will never get bored on holiday here.

Make the most of autumn
