Illusion Fireworks crowned British Champions

Illusion Fireworks from Wallingford in Oxfordshire have been crowned the 2018 British Firework Champions following an explosive two-day showdown between six of the UK’s top pyrotechnics specialists.

Tens of thousands of spectators gathered on and around Plymouth Hoe to see six spectacular ten-minute displays set off into the night sky in this year’s British Firework Championships.

The winner of ‘best display’ on Wednesday 8 August was Fully Fused Fireworks from Campton in Bedfordshire, with Illusion Fireworks the winners on Thursday 9 August.

The six professional fireworks companies that competed this year, listed in firing order, were:

Phoenix Fireworks

Hosted by the Council and The Event Services Association (TESA), the British Firework Championships are one of the biggest annual displays put on by professional firework companies in the UK.

Deputy Council Leader Pete Smith said: “This year’s British Firework Championships were once again a great success, with thousands of people enjoying the spectacle. All the companies involved put on a fantastic show and I’d like to congratulate Illusion Fireworks on their incredible winning display.”
