Police in Plymouth are responding to a spate of vehicle crimes in the area.

It’s been reported that a number of vans have been broken into and tools stolen.

Sector Inspector, Nick Lindsey said: “We have seen a sharp increase in the number of reports thefts from vans in the Plymouth area recently.

“Offenders are accessing the rear doors of vans, often causing little or no damage.

“I want to urge people to consider marking their tools and equipment. Whether it be engraving your name and putting a coloured dot on the items and fitting additional locks.

“We are urging people to report thefts, or attempted thefts to police as soon as possible to allow police to investigate.”
