Police support Plymouth Pride
On Saturday, 5 August, Devon and Cornwall Police is showing its support at Plymouth Pride, a local family friendly Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) festival in the heart of the city. They will be recognising the diverse communities we serve and encouraging the reporting of hate crime.
We will have LGBT officers attending and parading in the event together with a stall on the Hoe where the public can meet members of the local policing team and officers from the Diverse Communities Team. Officers from the Positive Action team will also be there to answer questions in relation to recruitment; specifically focusing on people who wish to join from diverse and minority communities.
Devon & Cornwall LGBT Network is a staff support group working with colleagues and communities embracing LGBT equality from a policing perspective. They will be flying the Devon and Cornwall Police LGBT Network flag at Charles Cross Police Station and reflect the diverse communities we serve here in Devon and Cornwall. The police actively encourage the reporting of hate crime and incidents. Please come and speak to the officers at the event, they are there for you.
The main event starts at 1pm.
