Mother and daughter glass makers commissioned for premier farming awards
A mother and daughter glass-making duo from Plymouth, have been commissioned to produce bespoke awards for Devon’s premier agriculture awards.
Stephens Scown LLP has commissioned Mother and Daughter Glass to design and hand craft awards for the Devon Farm Business Awards, which take place on 17 May – the eve of the Devon County Show.
The awards, which are in their fourth year, are organised by Addington Fund, Stephens Scown and Devon County Agricultural Association. The awards celebrate and showcase the best farmers and farming businesses in Devon.
Mother and Daughter Glass started as a hobby seven years ago, but now their fused glass ware is available in nine galleries. The pair work on the designs together, whilst Kelly cuts the glass and Barbara does the finishing.
Kelly Tombs said: “Our designs for the Devon Farm Business Awards are unique and bespoke. We are inspired by nature and the designs are based around hills, trees and a traditional white farm gate.”
Phil Reed, partner and head of rural services at Stephens Scown said: “This is the third year that we have asked Mother and Daughter Glass to produce the awards for the Devon Farm Business Awards. The Awards are all about celebrating local farming success, so it seemed fitting that we support a local craft business by asking them to produce the awards for us – and the end result is always stunning.”
