Popular song provided women with power during the 17th century and this is what is explored by Dr McShane, Head of Renaissance and Early Modern Studies at the V&A. Angela is a social and cultural historian interested in the material culture of the everyday in early modern England, encompassing popular music, politics and drinking culture.
