Two charged after naval base protest

Police have charged two people with willful obstruction of the highway following a protest outside Devonport Naval Base in Plymouth this morning (25 July).

Theo Simon, 56, of East Pennard, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, and Nicola Clark, 39, of Sydenham Road, Bridgwater, Somerset, have been released on police bail and are due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates' Court on 13 August 2014.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Camels Head Gate around 6am to assist MOD Police after protestors gathered along with two cars at the base.
