Flat burgled while man walked dog

Police are appealing for information after a laptop and distinctive model car were taken following a burglary in Plymouth.

The man living at the flat in Redhill Close, Ernesettle, left to walk his dog shortly after 10am on Monday 14 July.

When he returned at around 10.45am he discovered his black Acer laptop, worth £80, had been taken from the landing.

A 1:80 model of a Dodge Viper car, valued at £100, was also stolen. It is white with a blue stripe from front to back, and was made by Maisto.

The offender is believed to have entered the property through the front door.

Detective Constable Mike Milton, from the local investigation team in Crownhill, said: “If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the burglary or know the whereabouts of either of the stolen items please get in touch.

“I’d also like to remind residents to check all door and window locks are in good working order, and keep windows and doors securely closed and locked at night and when their home is unattended.”
