Budding gardeners have only one week left to enter Plymouth in Bloom 2014
Plymouth in Bloom is the annual competition for those with green fingers and is supported by Plymouth City Council’s Street Scene Services team, Plymouth Garden Centre and led by the Plymouth in Bloom committee.
The closing date for this year’s entries is Friday 4 July 2014 and so far the competition has received 150 entries.
The Plymouth in Bloom Committee is also looking for volunteers to help out with the Blooming Brilliant event which takes place on 13th and 14th August (with setting up on 12th) at the Guildhall. The event is to celebrate 50 years of the Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘In Bloom’ competition.
Councillor Brian Vincent, Plymouth City Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “There have been some great entries so far but there is still time to enter if you haven’t done so already. Why not send us photos of your entries on Facebook and Twitter?
“We want everyone who lives and works in Plymouth to have a city they can be proud of. The Plymouth in Bloom competition encourages people to improve the image of their outdoor environment..
Mo Townsend, Vice Chair for Plymouth in Bloom, said: “We want to make this the biggest and best Plymouth in Bloom yet, so don’t be a weed – get out of your beds, roll your sleeves up and help us sow the seeds of success.”
