It’s time to put your green fingers to work and dig for victory – Plymouth In Bloom 2014 is now open for entries.

Plymouth in Bloom is the annual competition for budding local gardeners and is supported by Plymouth City Council’s Street Scene Services team, Plymouth Garden Centre and led by the Plymouth in Bloom committee.

Cllr Brian Vincent, Plymouth City Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “We want everyone who lives and works in Plymouth to have a city they can be proud of. The Plymouth in Bloom competition encourages people to improve the image of their outdoor environment. There are plenty of opportunities for people to get involved at home, at work, in community groups and allotments and in schools.

“There are some beautifully presented areas of the city and we also have the Best Kept Street award which is a great way for communities to show off their hard work.”

Mo Townsend, Vice Chair for Plymouth in Bloom, said: “We want to make this the biggest and best Plymouth in Bloom yet, so don’t be a weed – get out of your beds, roll your sleeves up and help us sow the seeds of success.”
