Half Marathon route information
Plymouth’s Half Marathon 2014 will be taking place on Sunday 27 April.
This much celebrated road race is now in its 21st year, and is a key event in the city’s calendar. Over 5,000 runners are expected to be at the start line, and many will be raising much-needed funds for local and national charities.
The route has been designed to show-off all that is great about Plymouth taking in the Hoe, the Barbican and the beautiful Saltram Park. Opening the city’s streets to runners will cause some changes to usual traffic routes, but every effort has been made to minimise the disruption caused.
Where closures occur, well-signed diversions will be in place to ensure continued access around th route city for motorists and public transport. Road closures will start operating from 6am in most areas, with a dynamic reopening schedule from 9.45am onwards, to ensure roads are reopened as soon as runners have completed each section of the route. All roads will be reopened fully by 2pm.
Race organisers appreciate the continued support from residents, local businesses, organisations and authorities, in making this such a popular event in the city’s calendar and are making every effort to raise awareness of the 2014 route and the road closures that will be in place to ensure a safe and traffic-free race.
