Film: Only Lovers Left Alive (15)

Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangier, Jim Jarmusch’s vampiric love story is of reclusive musician Adam and his beloved Eve (Hiddleston and Swinton), both vampires whose relationship has endured centuries. They spend their time drinking the best blood, reminiscing about old acquaintances (Lord Byron, Mary Wollstonecraft), bemoaning fallen standards and gorging on each other's company. They have impeccable taste and Jarmusch has great fun documenting their passions. Their domestic bliss is interrupted by Eve's uncontrollable sister Ava (Wasikowska), whose recklessness threatens their idyll. Stuffed with musical and literary references and presented with Jarmusch deadpan style of humour, Only Lovers Left Alive is an addictive tale of ageless love – and possibly the coolest vampire film ever!
