Despite enjoying a man advantage for three-quarters of the game at Bootham Crescent, after former Pilgrim Stephane Zuber was sent off for a butt on Peter Hartley, they were unable to break down a resolute York defence and had to...

Plymouth 1 Oxford Utd 2: Match report

Argyle suffered their second home defeat of the Sky Bet League 2 season, in front of their second highest crowd of the campaign, after two second half goals earned Oxford United a rare win on their travels.

The attendance inside Home Park was marginally over 11,000, but after a third of the match 11 turned into 10 on the pitch. Teenager Aaron Bentley was sent off just over half an hour...

Newport 2 Plymouth 0: Match report

Considering Argyle’s last defeat in a Boxing Day fixture came back in 1997, you would be forgiven for forgetting some of the important names and faces involved on that fateful day. The figure most responsible for our loss 17 years later, however, is certainly a recognisable one.

Chris Zebroski, who started his professional career with the Pilgrims in 2005, scored in the ninth minute,...

Argyle 3 Dagenham 0: Match report

Whatever Dagenham & Redbridge decide to do to wile away their long journey east after a 3-0 defeat at Home Park, it is safe to say the answer will probably not be 'read'.

They will be utterly sick of the sound of that syllable, after a double from Reuben Reid, either side of a strike from namesake Bobby, saw off the struggling Daggers.

The two Reids, along with the terrific...

The 29-year-old Czech...

Northampton 2 Argyle 3: Match report

ARGYLE restated their Sky Bet League 2 promotion credentials in some style as goals from Peter Hartley, Andy Kellett and Lewi Alessandra gave the Pilgrims an away win that should have been more complete and comfortable than it eventually was.

From the moment Hartley headed home Bobby Reid’s corner after 114 seconds, the destination of the three points seemed to be Argyle’s. Relaxed by...
