The Premier League match between Plymouth and Sheffield, due to have taken place at the St Boniface Arena on tonight (Friday 1 August) has been postponed because of heavy rain forecast throughout the day, writes Graham Hambly.

Co-promoter Ashley Taylor announced the decision at around 7.30am saying: “There has been a consistent forecast of heavy rain falling in the Plymouth area throughout Friday. In the circumstances, the only sensible course of action was to make an early decision to call off the meeting.”

No new date has been arranged, but it is unlikely to be before October because of a lack of available dates at the St Boniface Arena.

Next weekend sees the Demon Demons in a Saturday afternoon National League double header against Coventry and Stoke.

The next fixture for the Devils will be a home league match against Rye House on Friday August 15.
