John Sheridan has confirmed that he is trying to bring in two players on loan ahead of Saturday's FA Cup first round tie at Lincoln City.

The club's Twitter feed @Only1Argyle quoted the Plymouth Argyle boss, saying he was "trying to get a striker and a winger in before Saturday" but that he "won't say who players are because we're still talking."

On-loan striker Paul Hayes returned to Brentford following last Saturday's win over Northampton Town. He made six appearances (two as substitute) during his spell, but did not score.

Argyle have been linked with a temporary move for former Torquay United striker Rene Howe, currently at Burton Albion, but Sheridan indicated that Howe was not one of the players he was talking to.

Sheridan has also said that he will play Jake Cole in goal against Lincoln, with the in-form Luke McCormick rested but expected to return for the League programme.
