Raiders fall at play-off semi-final stage

The Plymouth Raiders basketball team fell short of a place in the BBL Play-off Final at the weekend when they lost their two-legged semi-final to Leicester Riders yesterday (Sunday 21 April).

The Leicester Riders will meet the Newcastle Eagles - the top two seeds - in a repeat of last year's final.

Plymouth lost the home leg of the semi-final on Friday 66-80 at Plymouth Pavilions, but hopes were excitedly raised in the first half of Sunday's away leg when they eradicated the first leg deficit against a slow-starting Leicester. But an oustanding third period gave the Riders an ultimately unassailable lead and they went on to win 76-60, a 30 point aggregate victory.

The Raiders will console themselves with being one of the top fours teams in the country and look ahead to next season.
