ITEC supports women’s netball team Plymouth Pilgrims with sponsorship
Bristol-based technology managed services provider ITEC has announced it is sponsoring the women’s netball team Plymouth Pilgrims for the 2019/20 season.
Funding from ITEC will enable the Plymouth Pilgrims to grow its membership base and welcome more players in the upcoming season. As part of the sponsorship agreement, ITEC’s logo will be placed on the club’s training tops and benefit from promotional banners at home matches.
The volunteer-run netball club has been a stalwart in the Plymouth community for over 30 years and welcomes players of all ages who can benefit both socially and physically by playing netball in a team.
Nick Orme, ITEC CEO, commented: “Following the inspirational Netball World Cup held in Liverpool over the summer, ITEC is very excited to begin a partnership with the Plymouth Pilgrims netball club to help encourage participation in women’s sport and support the local community. With our backing, we hope to help them thrive in the leagues they compete in, ensure future longevity of the club and promote the benefits to players’ mental and physical wellbeing.”
Plymouth Pilgrims Head Coach Sue Gullick MBE said: “We are overjoyed to have such a thriving business join the Pilgrims family. We have been a self-sufficient team for many years but with well over 60 junior and senior members this season, we are delighted to be able to use the sponsorship money to keep the cost low and participation high. ITEC is an inclusive and professional company, which we feel mirrors our values at Plymouth Pilgrims.”
Lizzie Mitchelmore, Seniors Players Rep, added: “We are excited about the future of the club and with ITEC’s support this year, we can now meet the targets we have set ourselves.”
