Football fans in Plymouth can get up close and personal with the Barclays Premiership Trophy as it makes an own goal in Plymouth.
Barclays Armada Way branch, Plymouth, has secured the trophy’s visit for Friday 26 June as part of a charity event to raise funds for The Alzheimer’s Society.
Visitors to the branch on Friday, between 9am and 6pm, can get their own personalised photo with the trophy in exchange for a small donation to the charity.
Barclays will also be running an auction on the day with items including a signed, framed, authenticated England 2014 football shirt and a signed West Bromwich football shirt.
Other auction items include a signed West Bromwich football, Exeter Chiefs rugby tickets with a signed rugby ball and one year’s membership to the Plymouth Life Centre.

James Nevitt who organised the visit and works at Barclays Armada Way branch, Plymouth, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for football fans in Plymouth and one that will help us to raise money for our chosen charity. I have a personal interest in The Alzheimer’s Society and with Plymouth being a Dementia Friendly City it seemed right to pick such a well-deserving cause.
“Excitement has been rising in the branch for weeks now and there will be a really exciting buzz in the air on Friday. We are even expecting to see a number of local youth football teams come along to see the trophy first hand around 4pm.”
Assistant City Centre Manager, Holly Reynolds, added: “We are looking forward to supporting this event. Barclays have pulled out all the stops to get the trophy to visit their Armada Way, Plymouth branch, and this could possibly be the one and only time. Football fan or not, this is an excellent event that will help a charity which undertakes amazing work.”
