Argyle draw a blank in pre-season Bath friendly

Bath City 0 Plymouth Argyle 0

Pre-Season Friendly, Tuesday 16 July 2013

A goaless draw at Conference South side Bath City provided a testing encounter for Plymouth Argyle as they warm-up for the start of the 2013-14 season.

Bath showed plenty of attacking intent as Pilgrims manager John Sheridan again made a number of half-time changes to give as many of his squad as possible some game time.

Argyle twice hit the woodwork as both sides managed to create attacking openings but on a very warm evening, the goals had dried up.

Argyle's goalkeepers Jake Cole and Luke McCormick both impressed with some good saves and veteran defender Guy Branston made his first pre-season appearance after illness.

This was Plymouth's last away game before the start of the new season on 3 August. Home games against Football League opposition in the shape of the MK Dons and Yeovil Town follow, before the League Two opener at Southend United in a little over two weeks time.
