White collar warriors aiming to go a couple of rounds with opposite numbers from the Plymouth business community could end up toe to toe with Bruton Knowles’ Glenn Kelly.

Glenn – an associate at Bruton Knowles’ Lockyer Street office -  will be joining two dozen other hopefuls hoping to slog it out at Plymouth Pavilions on Saturday April 25 on behalf of city-based children’s bereavement charity Jeremiah’s Journey.

The charity aims to ensure that children, young people and their parents and carers in Plymouth  have help and support available during a terminal illness or following a death in the family.

He will be up against fellow white collar workers from a number of Plymouth businesses including Mark Holt, Sound Financial, Nexolutions, The Treasury, Independent Utilities, Full Circle Property Management, KitWorld, Base Concepts and MoneySaveSolutions.

Although Glenn has never boxed before he is a regular at his local gym and turns out for the Plymouth Parnell's gaellic football team.

He said: “My wife thinks I am having a mid-life crisis but this is all in a great cause. I have just turned forty and felt I wanted to give something back to the community we work in.

“Jeremiah’s do so much good work for kids and it’s going to be a great night for them.”

Glenn has been taking a few extra tips from colleague Kirk Davidson –  latest recruit to Bruton Knowles’ Plymouth team and a graduate of the Royal Navy school of hard knocks.

The charity fighters have been drilled by experts from two Plymouth boxing gyms, Scott Dann’s Boxing Gym and Hybrid MMA and Fitness Centre.

Although he has been putting hours in the gym and the ring, Glenn is somewhat philosophical regarding the charity bout next month:

“It is the first time in my life that I have taken part a sport in which you are entirely responsible for the outcome. It brings out an overwhelming sense of achievement, satisfies my inner adolescent and gives me peace of mind.”
