Witnesses sought to Plymouth assault

Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault in Whitleigh this morning [Monday 21 August].

Officers were notified at around 11.40am to the incident which happened outside the Co-Op on Whitleigh Green in Whitleigh.

A man in his 20s was assaulted by two men who left the scene. The victim sustained facial injuries and a suspected broken jaw. He has been taken to Derriford Hospital via land ambulance.

An investigation has been launched and enquiries are underway.
