Wire Fence steps in to help UK Wild Otter Trust rebuild after forced relocation
North Devon, UK - October 2025 - Facing the devastating requirement to vacate its existing premises, the UK Wild Otter Trust has been given notice to dismantle and relocate its rehabilitation centre, including otter enclosures and hospital facilities. In response, Wire Fence -long a supporter of the Trust - has made an urgent supply donation to help the charity rebuild safe enclosures for displaced otters.
On 2 October 2025, the Trust announced it must vacate its site, dismantle existing infrastructure, and move all operations - even while continuing to care for its residents. A new site, generously offered by a supporter, is now in the works. But before the new facility can open, the charity must reconstruct secure enclosures and rehabilitation areas.
Wire Fence has donated £1,256.64 worth of cost-price fencing materials, delivered on 9 October, to help build at least 20 new secure enclosures for otters in recovery. Their earlier support to the Trust has included supplying discounted materials and contributing to the Trust’s fishery support programme, which aids ecosystem health in local waterways.
