Winnie sees her design come to life!
Young gymnast Winnie Hoare has been announced as the winner of the ClassForKids Design a Leotard competition. Entries came from all over the UK but it was Winnie, aged 7 from Plympton in Plymouth, who wowed judges.
On hearing of the win, Toni Hoare, Winnie’s mum said: “Winnie is absolutely over the moon. She was so excited to take part.”
The competition, run in conjunction with Ervy Sports and Elite Gymnastics, asked children to submit their unique designs using a specially downloadable template, for the opportunity to have it turned into a fully custom made leotard, complete with Swarovski crystals, worth £300.
Winnie is a pupil at City of Plymouth Gymnastics and her design was the crowd favourite on social media as well as in ClassForKids and Ervy offices. It's colourful, playful and unique colour-blocking nautical meets superhero theme translated across the front and back of the leotard.
One of the judges, Darryn Clarke from Elite Gymnastics, commented: “Winnie’s design was a clear front-runner - it’s original and colourful and will look great in any gymnastics setting.”
The unique leotard was made by Evry Sports Fashion who translated the design from Winnie’s drawing using specialist software.
Nikki Th’ng, CEO of ClassForKids, the leading booking management platform for kids activities, said: “It’s been fantastic to see how excited children are about gymnastics - now Winnie has her very own design which reflects her personality and which she can wear with pride while practising her routines.”
