SW winner announced in the race for Britain’s Best Bridesmaid!

The wait is almost over! Group travel expert Red7 has come one step closer to crowning Britain’s Best Bridesmaid and the competition is fiercer than ever, with nearly 500 nominations received in total.

Brides from across the country nominated the top team players from their #wedsquad and the judges carefully examined every entry. Now, Red7 reveals its seven regional winners in the race for the title.

Not only will the ultimate winning bridesmaid receive the prestigious title of Britain’s Best Bridesmaid (and major bragging rights!), she will also be whisked away on her very own ‘BridesmaidMoon’, a fantastic Red7 cruise to Bruges and Amsterdam.

Introducing Amy Hookway, the winner for the South West. Amy, from Newquay, made bride Abbie Peel’s day even more special with a thoughtful gesture.

Intuitive Amy was determined not to let the pressure of wedding planning get the better of the bride, “she could tell when I was at my lowest and most stressed with planning and would just arrange a get together for everyone to have fun,” says Abbie.

When other bridesmaids missed the mark, Amy stepped in. “She didn't moan to me once, when others had a habit of moaning and causing stress,” confesses Abbie. Amy also took control of arranging the dress fittings when plans began to go pear-shaped.

The two besties met through their mutual friend Jade, who sadly passed away a few years ago. In a touching act of remembrance, Amy sought out one of Jade’s bracelets and gave it to Abbie to wear down the aisle. “It just meant the world to me and set me up for the day,” says Abbie.

Amy takes her duties as bridesmaid seriously and continues to treat Abbie. “Even after the wedding she still sends little photos as reminders in the post, or wedding themed ornaments for the Christmas tree.”
