Stagecoach Gold roadshow comes to Plymouth

Plymouth residents can get a sneak preview of Stagecoach South West’s new luxury bus service, Stagecoach Gold, when one of the brand new vehicles arrives in Plymouth City Centre today Friday 27 September.

The Stagecoach Gold roadshow will be held in Plymouth Piazza and open from approximately 10am to 4pm:

The roadshow will be manned by drivers of the new service who will be on hand to answer any questions, giveaway timetables, free gifts and – for the first 100 lucky visitors - special ‘Golden Ticket’ family Explorer vouchers. These can only be redeemed on the new service and give up to two adults and three children the chance to experience a day out on Gold for free!

Stagecoach describes the introduction of the flagship ‘5 star’ brand to Devon as a "coup for customers" as it is reserved for only a select number of locations across the country.

Michael Watson, Managing Director at Stagecoach South West, commented: “I hope people will take the opportunity to visit the roadshow and experience a Gold bus for themselves before we even go into service! These vehicles really are something a bit special  - there’s extra leg room, leather seats and free Wi-Fi and the engines are amongst the most environmentally-friendly on the road. They really do bring a bit of luxury to bus travel.”

The brand new £2m Stagecoach Gold fleet will run between Torquay, Paignton, Totnes and Plymouth or Dartmouth from Monday 30 September, operating up to every 30 minutes, seven days a week between Torquay, Paignton and Totnes and then offering an hourly connection to either Dartmouth or Plymouth via Ivybridge.

Stagecoach Gold is also characterised by its ‘Customer Promise’ which enshrines the service standards customers can expect from the company, vehicles and drivers. Printed timetables will be distributed to outlets along the route.
